Yesterday we published details of Unity pricing changes and stated that successful indie Unity developers would be the hardest hit. There have been a number of reactions across Twitter from successful Unity developers and suffice to say, we weren’t wrong. Unity developers are not happy.
Some highlight responses:
The full list of developer reactions:
- Innersloth & Aggro Crab
- Innersloth Developer on Moving to Godot
- Cult of the Lamb
- Devolver Digital
- Garry of Gary’s Mod/RUST
- David Szymanski – DUSK
- Landfall Games
- Rami Ismail (Formerly of Vambeer)
- Dillon Rogers of Gloomwood
- Colorgrave
- Brian Wilson of Whitethorn Games
- Toasty Ashes of Dust
- George Broussard Apogee/3D Realms
- Tomas Sala – Falconeer
- Matt Wood – Double Dagger/Little Kitty Game
This is of course not a comprehensive list of upset Unity developers, but it does illustrate just how irate the community is with this game. I should imagine developers such as miHoYo creators of the hugely successful Genshin Impact are just as furious, although more possessed of financial means to fight this legally.
